"The protester" has been named Time's Man or woman of the Year.

The magazine unveiled the choice on Friday morning. Managing manager Richard Stengel also discovered the decision on the "Today" present. Stengel said that finalists included Kate Middleton, Admiral William McRaven and Congressman Paul Ryan.
