The Heisman Winner Robert Griffin III

Quarterback Robert Griffin III became the first player from Baylor University to win the Heisman Trophy, college football's top individual honor. after receiving 1687 points, Baylor QB Robert Griffin III earned the Heisman Trophy tonight, a bit of a surprise if you might not have been checking up on the shift in the actual voting leading up the announcement. Andrew Luck ended up being the preseason favorite after foregoing the NFL very last off season, something we Panther supporters took a little personalized. But I don't publish this post to be able to gloat about Luck dropping the trophy couple of years in a row (okay maybe a little bit).

My true interest in this event is the potential for Griffin to be for the draft board if the Panthers pick in next April's draft. The Panthers require additional picks on this draft and Griffin might be just the bait for a Panther trade back. The team like the Brown colours, Bills or Seahawks could possibly be willing to deal to go up and seize the potential franchise QB. I think our own Cam Newton has demonstrated how a mobile QB can also add a dimension which is hard to defend giving Griffin added value.

Today draft pundits are all over the board as far as where Griffin might go ahead the draft. Cbs television studios sports has him or her as the #6 ranked potential customer (#3 QB). Of course that doesn't mean he'll be drafted at that place.

Draftek conversely doesn't actually rank Griffin in the prime 50. ESPN ranks Griffin #12. Walt Football thinks your Redskins will go for Griffin from #5 overall, probably the pick too early to the Panthers. On a slightly distinct note, I find this amusing that the make fun of drafter thinks the Jags will go QB again after taking Blaine Gabbert at #10 in final year's draft. This individual makes a good situation I must say.

FFToolbox has Griffin at #23. So it would seem in comparison with other prospects Griffin comes in much lower than any time considered where he may actually be drafted. That is certainly to be expected for QB's, especially those that could operation QBs. Hence the reason your Panthers just might get fortunate given there are Three and possibly 4 QBs to get drafted int he leading 15: Luck, Barkley, Landry & Griffin).
